Setting safe daily limits
Start at 20-30 actions a day on an account under three months old, 30-50 up to three months, and 80-120 once established. Spread them across your active hours — pace matters more than the total.
Recommended starting numbers
Under one month old: 20 to 30 actions a day, and post consistently for a fortnight before starting at all.
One to three months: 30 to 50 a day, raised only after clean activity.
Three to twelve months with regular posting: 80 to 120.
Over a year with established history: 150 or more.
Every plan caps at 300 actions a day per connected account. That is a ceiling, not a target, and most accounts should sit well below it.
Why pattern beats volume
X does not publish limits, and the figures circulating online are mostly guesswork repeated until they sound official. What is consistently observable is that the shape of activity matters more than the total.
Forty actions scattered across nine hours looks like a person using the app. Forty actions in three minutes does not, however modest forty sounds.
Set active hours and let the tool randomise the gaps. Overnight quiet hours matter too — activity at 4am on an account that has never been awake then is a pattern.
The one rule that matters most
Do not follow and unfollow in the same session, and never unfollow somebody within a day or two of following them.
Rapid follow-then-unfollow cycling is the most heavily policed pattern on the platform. It is trivially detectable and has no innocent explanation. A grace period of at least seven days turns the same two actions into ordinary tidying up.
More on growing
- Choosing who to follow
Target the followers of three to five accounts in your exact niche, then filter by bio keyword, activity and follower ratio. Targeting decides your follow-back rate far more than volume does.
