Tweeksocial vs SocialDog
- SocialDog: From $9.99/month
- Tweeksocial: $27/month
- All features on every plan
What SocialDog actually is
SocialDog is a Twitter management tool with a strong following in Japan and a growing international user base. It covers follower analytics, keyword monitoring, basic follow and unfollow management, and scheduling, at a genuinely low entry price.
As a monitoring and light management tool it is decent value. Keyword monitoring in particular is useful if you want to watch conversations in your space, and the analytics give you a reasonable picture of follower movement.
The limitation is ambition. Follow management is basic rather than targeted, there is no DM automation at all, and nothing resembling a growth strategy layer. It tells you what is happening; it does not go and change what is happening.
What SocialDog does well
- Very low entry price
- Useful keyword and conversation monitoring
- Reasonable follower analytics for the money
- Basic follow/unfollow management included
Where it stops
- Follower tracking is basic — no competitor-follower targeting
- No DM automation whatsoever
- No mass DM or outreach campaigns
- No AI growth or strategy optimisation
- Analytics are descriptive rather than actionable
- English-language support and documentation are thinner than the Japanese equivalents

Why people move from SocialDog to Tweeksocial
Targeting that actually targets
Following by broad keyword is a blunt instrument. Working through the followers of three carefully chosen competitors, filtered for activity and ratio, is a different exercise entirely — and the follow-back rates show it.
DM is the whole missing half
Welcome messages, mass campaigns and cold outreach are where conversations and customers come from. SocialDog has no story here at all.
Strategy, not just dashboards
SocialDog reports what happened. AI Growth Mode changes what happens next, rebalancing targeting and pacing weekly based on your own results.
One plan, everything unlocked
No tier-hunting. $27 gets every feature; the only decision is how many X accounts you connect.
Switch to Tweeksocial if…
- You want targeted growth rather than monitoring
- You need DM automation for outreach or launches
- Basic follow management has stopped producing results
- You want a strategy layer, not just charts
Stay with SocialDog if…
- You mainly want keyword monitoring on a tight budget
- Scheduling is part of your requirement
- You are not trying to grow, only to observe
We would genuinely rather you use the right tool than churn out of ours in month two.
The verdict
SocialDog is fair value for watching your account. Tweeksocial is for changing it. If you have spent six months looking at SocialDog dashboards and the numbers have not moved, that is the entire argument.

Cheaper, certainly. Better value depends on whether monitoring alone gets you what you want. If the account is not growing, the cheaper tool is still money spent on watching it not grow.
